Upon retirement, Doug has delved into the world of acting. His first booking, as an extra on Reagan (Sean McNamara) landed him entry into the Screen Actors Guild after being promoted to his first speaking role. Addicted to this work, he has since studied intensively, continuously working on honing his craft through classes and numerous Oklahoma projects.
